The Full Plan
I've heard from teachers who feel like they're managing chaos instead of teaching. I've heard from parents who are afraid to send their kids to school. That's not acceptable — and it's fixable if we're willing to have honest conversations and make real changes.
A safe learning environment isn't a luxury — it's the baseline requirement for everything else to work. When classrooms are disruptive and teachers are unsupported in maintaining order, student outcomes suffer across the board. Students who feel unsafe don't learn. Teachers who feel unsupported leave the profession.
The current approach to behavioral policy has often been decided at the top and handed down without meaningful input from the people who live it every day — teachers, staff, and parents. Brandon believes that has to change. Good policy comes from listening to everyone at the table.
Brandon will work to establish clearer, consistently enforced behavioral standards — developed with teacher and parent input — that protect the learning environment for every student in Ward 9.
Specific Commitments
Involve teachers in writing the rules. Brandon will push for structured input from classroom educators before any new behavioral policy is adopted.
Consistent enforcement. Policies only work when they're applied fairly and consistently. Brandon will advocate for clear escalation procedures every school in the ward follows.
Support for teachers facing difficult situations. Teachers shouldn't feel alone when handling serious behavioral issues. Brandon supports stronger administrative backup and better training resources.
Transparent discipline data. Ward 9 families deserve to understand discipline trends in their schools so they can be informed advocates for their children.
